Hydrocarbon Remediation.

One of the highest frequency works has been the remediation of hydrocarbon impacted areas.

In June 2008, numerous spot sites throughout a company's depot were remediated through excavations. Oil had escaped from machinery and infiltrated the asphalt underneath. It had leaked for such a long period of time that the oil had been able to penetrate the soils beneath the asphalt and continue to reach deeper depths.

The depot had high traffic areas hence, excavations were completed to remove soils, samples were derived and an appropriate landfill was choosen for the disposal of wastes.

The remediation required one day and was managed completly by Hansen Environmental Services staff and did not affect the operations of the company requiring works.
